The much awaited flagship product of Samsung, Galaxy S3 is officially launched. The firm has big hopes lined up depending on the success of the product. The top brass management is very confident about the cool features present in the Smartphone and expects them to be the industry standards in the near future. This article presents a review and comparison between Galaxy S3 and HTC’s One X model. This article will compare the features and has no intention to decide the runner-up and winner.
The two versions are of similar size and weight when it comes to dimensions. However, HTC is relatively smaller in size and S3 is relatively thinner. One X is little bit heavier and an overall glance will give us an opinion that both the devices are similar in dimensions.
Even the screen functionalities seem to be very similar. S3 features a Superb AMOLED 4.8 inch screen size and HTC comes with a 4.7 Inch screen size. Both the screens have 720×1280 resolutions with retina display. The pixel density remains to be 312ppi on HTC One X and 306ppi on S3 version. However, the smaller difference is almost negligible to human eyes as the quality of picture remains the same.
Processor is an integral part of any Smartphone device. It determines the processing ability of different applications. HTC One X employs the services of Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core 1.5 GHz processor and S3 uses the Exynos 4 Quad 1.4 GHz chip. It is relatively not correct to say that HTC’s processor is superior on technical grounds. However, HTC remains to be a powerful processor on papers.
S3 comes in 3 variants in terms of storage such as 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The phone’s storage can very well be extended using the micro SD slot. HTC One X comes with the 32GB variant and has got no options for the expansion via micro SD slot.
HTC and Samsung have got the similar 8 MP camera which is not superior in terms of industry standards. However, S3 has a powerful front facing camera because of its 1.9 Mp shooter while One X comes with 1.3 Mp shooter. S3 and One X have the ability to record full HD pictures and videos at 1080p.
Both the devices have got similar connectivity features like near field communications(NFC), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and digital living network alliance (DLNA). Samsung is determined to launch its 4G version in less than a year and HTC has got no plans for its 4G version. By this way, users will be able to experience the complete functionality of Samsung devices and find a difference.
S3 and One X run on Android powered platform. The performance remains the same with not much difference. S3 runs on version 4.0.4 and One X runs of 4.0.3. The Ice Cream Sandwich version does not differ much when it comes to operational efficiency. However, the interface seems to be difference as HTC uses the Sense overlay and S3 uses the TouchWiz functionality.
S3 is powered up by an efficient battery armed with 2100mAh and HTC One is powered up by a less powerful battery with 1800mAh. Hence, the battery life would be better in S3.
